Florissant Municipal Division
BACKGROUND
Our challenge was to find 500 stack chairs that had to meet a 300 lb weight rating with dense stacking requirements with several storage carts for ease of movement in to the storage room. We also had to create and design a Private Office furniture that offered a level of prestige and an affordable cost for the Judge’s chambers and the Prosecutors Offices etc.
OBJECTIVE
The building itself was renovated from an abandoned Bowling Alley. It was great to take advantage of abandoned real estate and turn it into a much needed Justice Center as well as a Community space for the residents of Florissant. For our project we we're able to use remanufactured systems furniture that told our environmental story of reduce, reuse, recycle. We created private workstations for the entire police department, as well as creating a collaborative are for the fiance personnel. Giving the community a clean and friendly space for neighborhood meeting and craft fairs.
RESULTS
We used Ergocentric Ergonomic Task chairs designed especially with for police officers and their equipment belts. Special coating on the seat back to prevent wear and flip-back arms to get out of the way of the police belt. As was requested, we used specially designed table top and legs that can be bolted to the floor and the wall to prevent injury during suspect interviews. Global furniture was used as a priority for the project to keep a level of durability and warranty as well as accessing available local government contracts for competitive pricing.
