Summary of Position:
Designing spaces with furnishings in collaboration with senior designer, client and salesperson, according to knowledge of design trends, offerings of competition, production costs, capability of production facilities, and characteristics of company’s market. We do this by producing plans, designs, and furnishing interior environments of commercial and industrial buildings by performing the following duties:

Essential Responsibilities:

      • Confers with Senior designer, customer service and sales personnel to obtain design suggestions and customer orders.
      • Ability to hand-sketch a design in order to show ideas and concepts.
      • Assist with preparing presentation packages for client presentations.
      • Ability to space plan in Auto CAD, manipulate floor plans, dimensions, create schedules, and set title blocks.
      • Assist with preparation of furniture specifications, finishes, and upholstery fabrics, paint to be used in manufacturing.
      • Assist with plan modifications for completed furniture to conform to changes in design trends and increase customer acceptance.
      • Confers with Senior designer to determine architectural preferences, purpose and function of environment, budget, types of construction, equipment to be installed, and other factors which affect planning interior environments.
        Renders design ideas in form of paste ups, drawings, or illustrations, estimates material requirements and costs, and presents design to client for approval.
      • Assists with selecting furnishings, art works, and accessories.
      • Assists with research and sourcing of vendor products to assist with client designs.
      • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

      • A minimum of two years’ experience with Microsoft Office Suites
      • Proficient Auto CAD skills are required.
      • CAP 20/20, Worksheet including Visual Impressions 3D rendering skills are preferred.
      • Revit, Sketch Up and other industry related software experience is a plus.
      • Adobe experience preferred.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Interior Design; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of two years of design experience is required.

Design Skills: Ability to illustrate concept by designing layouts regarding arrangement, size, type and style, and related aesthetic concepts.

Showroom Floor Specialist

Receives, stores, assembles, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments by performing the following duties. Clean, preps, builds displays, organizes and tags used furniture for the showroom floor.

      • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, assembled, or distributed.
      • Loading, unloading, and wrapping furniture on delivery trucks.
      • Tag and label products and make sure all materials have identifying information.
      • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
      • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
      • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers.
      • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping bays.
      • Helps sales team with Will Call tickets – pick-ups, product availability.
      • Works with other team members to organize and maintain used showroom floor.

      • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
      • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
      • Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
      • Uses computer to enter records.
      • Compile’s worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
      • Maintains inventory records, adjustments, and descriptions.
      • Ensure adequate inventory levels on showroom floor.
      • Follows all OSHA requirements.

Office Furniture Installer

Delivery and installation of furniture at customer’s homes and commercial sites.

Essential Responsibilities:
      • Develops and provides input on delivery and installation requirements needed to determine the total labor and gross margin for a customer’s order.
      • Interfaces with other departments and vendors to ensure customer order deadlines are met.
      • Studies installation schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
      • Creates detailed project schedule timelines to ensure customer shipment dates and equipment specifications are met. Project plan will include measurements to track progress.
      • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet installation schedules.
      • Develops methods, guidelines, and policies to facilitate efficient service delivery.
      • Troubleshoot issues that arise with customer deliveries and installations.
