BACKGROUND

This was a project for Saint Louis University at Schwitalla Hall. The office is used for student relations and recruitment and they also perform many other administrative duties. They were looking for a vibrant office environment that would appeal to students and potential new students. They were asking for a way to make a strong and lasting first impression.

OBJECTIVE

To accomplish the attractive office they were after, we selected ergonomic and stylish seating. We also incorporated adjustable height surfaces at each desk. They were also thoughtful about placing color where it would make the most impact. Along with the bright blue accent paint, we selected an eye-catching green for the two chairs in the small waiting area. Another feature that added functionality as well as visual interest was in the mobile storage placed at each desk. We incorporated two different fabric patterns on the cushion tops. The patterns provide some added color and personality to the room while also functioning as impromptu guest seating. One final piece of “flare” comes from the chrome accents on the desks and small tables. This finish adds some flash in its reflectivity and adds a little extra life to the space.

RESULTS

Overall, we have accomplished the client’s goal of a fun and energetic office that will be memorable to those who visit. Products used: Logiflex Level casegoods, Magog and ML conference and occasional tables. Global Loover task, Luray conference, and Kate lounge seating. AMQ adjustable height table base. Fabrics from Momentum, Guilford of Maine, and Burch. View our project at C.A. Madsen and Associates. portfolio http://camadsen.com/portfolio-2/
