CARE CALL CENTER
BACKGROUND
We were faced with several architectural and structural obstacles as well as certain product limitations that occur when working with a used inventory. It was also very important that we select used inventories that provide the look and function required by the end user. We also had a strict budget and timeframe to work within. The project required the problem solving efforts of our whole team throughout the process – from design to installation.
OBJECTIVE
We provided over 200 stations in total using two separate used inventories in two phases. We were able to successfully locate pre-owned stations that met the expectations of SLU at a price they could afford. We were then able to successfully implement a plan for smooth installation for both departments and accommodate several other trades also working in the building. All was completed on time and on budget. By using used workstations, slu was able to rescue thousands of pounds of materials from landfills.
RESULTS
Our project is to relocate two divisions of the SLUCare call center into one central location. It was also important to SLU to use used workstations for budgetary and environmental purposes. We primarily used Teknion Leverage and Steelcase Answer Workstations. We also specified express office furniture for new training tables and seating. We also specified some Global Loover task chairs for the first phase of the project.
